A Tisdale man will spend some time behind bars for pointing a pellet gun at a neighbour.

Thirty-one-year-old Jamie Lynx was charged with possession of an imitation weapon dangerous to public peace, assault with a weapon, and failure to comply with a release order condition following an incident on Aug. 29.

Officers from Tisdale and Melfort detachments responded to a residence at around 1 a.m., where a man pointed a firearm at neighbours during an argument.

Lynx was arrested just before 2 a.m. without incident. Officers searched his residence for the firearm and located a pellet gun that was a replica of an AR-15.

On Sept. 22, Lynx entered guilty pleas in Melfort Provincial Court and was sentenced to 75 days in jail. The man received credit for the 39 days already served, leaving him with 36 days remaining.

The sentence also includes a firearm prohibition as well as crossbow and restricted weapons for 10 years.
