Trial date set for Pelican Narrows murder case

More than a year and a half after a man was shot and killed at Pelican Narrows, the case is proceeding to trial.
On Friday, a trial date was set for George Samuel Custer, 25, and Gregory George Custer, 23. Both are charged with second-degree murder in the death of David John Charles.
On March 10, 2019, RCMP responded to a shooting at a residence in the northern community. Charles, 28, was transported to hospital with a gunshot wound and was declared deceased.
The one-week trial next May at Melfort Court of Queen’s Bench will be tried by judge alone.
