Positive COVID-19 cases confirmed at BUH

The Battlefords Union Hospital has been confirmed to have positive cases of COVID-19 that may impact in-patient bed capacity availability.

Saskatchewan Health Authority (SHA) spokesman Doug Dahl confirmed in an email to battlefordsNOW on Monday afternoon there are positive cases identified involving health care workers at the Battlefords Union Hospital.

He stated the individuals were not infected at the hospital.

Contact tracing is currently underway to determine close contacts for the individuals who have tested positive.

“There may be a reduction in in-patient bed capacity because of the availability of staff who are required to self-isolate,” Dahl said. “The Emergency Department remains open, and there are no additional visitor restrictions at this time.”
