Snow impacts P.A. transit

Nov 9, 2020 | 10:14 AM

As of 10 a.m., Prince Albert city transit is currently not running, but staff members are hopeful buses will be out later today.

Transportation Manager Keri Sapsford explained this kind of interruption in service is unprecedented in her 15 years with the city.

“We’ve had delays in transit,” she told paNOW. “But we’ve never had to cancel it before… it’s an unusual storm.”

Currently drivers are on standby waiting for plows to clear the main arterial routes. When service does resume, which Sapsford anticipates will happen after lunch, routes may be modified. All information will be on TransitLivePA.com.

“We may start running on arterials and try not to do as many residential streets because those won’t be plowed yet and there’s a lot of snow,” Sapsford said. “Probably when we start up [the routes] will be slightly modified but we’ll have all our information up on TransitLivePA.com.”
