Melfort RCMP charge man in connection to break and enter, thefts in city

Melfort RCMP have charged a 31-year-old man in connection to a break and enter to a residence and thefts in Melfort.

Mason Bird of Montreal Lake is facing a total of eight charges.

  • Fail to comply with release order
  • Fail to comply with probation
  • Possession of property obtained by crime
  • Mischief under $5,000
  • Theft of a motor vehicle
  • Break and enter into a residence
  • Theft under $5,000
  • Possession of stolen credit cards

Bird appeared in Melfort Provincial Court on Thursday, Nov. 12 and has been remanded until Nov. 19.

RCMP are also reminding the public to lock all buildings and vehicles and make sure valuables are secure and out of sight. This comes as there’s been an increase in complaints of thefts and property crimes in Melfort.
