LSSD declares COVID-19 outbreak in NBCS, McKitrick following additional cases

Nov 16, 2020 | 2:56 PM

Living Sky School Division has announced two diagnosed cases of COVID-19.

In a statement Monday, the division said the cases involve an individual in McKitrick Community School and an individual in North Battleford Comprehensive High School. Both are the second case for each school. As a result of having two or more cases, both schools are in a declared outbreak.

While a response is being mobilized by Public Health, the schools remain open at this time.

As per protocol, the division and schools are working closely with Public Health to ensure necessary measures are in place for protection of students and staff. This includes contacting those likely in close contact with the two individuals and encouraging precautionary measures such as promoting proper hygiene, mask wearing and self-monitoring for symptoms. Further information can be found on the Saskatchewan Ministry of Health’s website. To protect the privacy of the two individuals, LSSD is not sharing further details at this time.
