Chamber seeking assistance installing Christmas lights
The Lac La Ronge Chamber of Commerce is appealing to local contractors for assistance in bringing a little bit of Christmas spirit to the upcoming holiday season.
Although a tender was put out earlier this month, the Chamber has been unsuccessful in finding someone to install the Christmas lights that are a common addition this time of year in Air Ronge and La Ronge. With Christmas only five weeks away, President Dennis Caplette is hopeful a solution to the issue will be found soon.
“There was a tender put out and, unfortunately, we weren’t lucky enough to get someone to step forward,” he said. “Any help we can get with that would be greatly appreciated. With the season being the way that it is and with COVID and everything, it would sure kind of brighten things up in the downtown core.”
In previous years, the Chamber reached out to various contractors to see if they would be interested in doing the work. Volunteers also assisted with groups like the La Ronge Ice Wolves lending a hand. In total, there are about 32 lights with eight of those in Air Ronge.
