Schindelka selected for TeleMiracle 45

La Ronge’s Dara Schindelka has been selected to be part of TeleMiracle 45.

The 20-hour telethon will occur starting at 9 p.m. on Feb. 27 and conclude at 5 p.m. Feb. 28. There will be more than 100 acts from across the province with Schindelka scheduled to appear during the main show. She’ll be singing a song she wrote called The Northern Air with her Saskatoon-based band of the same title.

“It is a light, upbeat song I wrote a number of years ago when I first moved to what I thought was the north country,” Schindelka said. “Now I live quite a bit further. Hudson Bay is where I was living, it was 2005 and I wrote it for their homecoming, their 100-year centennial.”

It will be the second time Schindelka performed on TeleMiracle as she already did so many years ago as part of Saskatchewan Express. She has fond memories of that performance and she hopes people will tune into the TeleMiracle broadcast in February 2021.

TeleMiracle is hosted by the Kinsmen Foundation and funds raised through the broadcast help to improve the independence and quality of life for Saskatchewan residents. The foundation provides specialized mobility and medical equipment to people and organizations throughout the province, as well as travel assistance for residents in need of vital medical treatment outside their community.

TeleMiracle will be broadcast live on CTV and live streamed online at the TeleMiracle website.
