A man who violated two counts of the Occupation Health and Safety Regulations (OHS) was fined $14,000 at Melfort Provincial Court on Nov. 30.
Being an employer or contractor, Donald Cal pleaded guilty to failing to give notice of an accident at a workplace to the division as soon as reasonably possible and failing to include provision of any information necessary to protect the health and safety of workers.
Cal was fined $10,000, along with a surcharge of $4,000. Two additional charges were withdrawn.
The charges resulted from a worksite incident on Oct. 25, 2018 near Hudson Bay, where a worker fell from a house roof and suffered injuries.
