Chamber of Commerce releases list of Tri-Community Awards nominees

The La Ronge and District Chamber of Commerce has released the list of nominees for the Tri-Community Awards.

“The chamber was set to host our annual Tri–Community Awards Gala in April 2020,” a Facebook post from the organization states. “Like so many other things, COVID-19 put a stop to that. However, prior to COVID closures, we had already received over 100 nominations of local citizens, businesses and organizations for our Tri-Community Awards.”

The nominees for Service, Industry and Trade are Claude Dussion, Drifter’s Motel, GW Venture, JorCo Construction, La Ronge Paint and Body, Little Rock Enterprises, MacGivers, Maija Enns RMT, Mayo Auto Clinic, Mid City Electric, North Shield Electric, Penny’s Hair Design, Re/Max and Watt Agencies.

The nominees for Retail Business of the Year are Conexus Credit Union, Coop Market Place, Country North Shell (now retired), Electric Waves, Giant Tiger, JRMCC, Keethanow Gas Bar, Mayo Auto Clinic, Montreal River Outfitters, Rona, Robertson’s Trading Ltd., The Home Store, The Source and Woodlands and Waterways.

The nominees for Home-Based Business are A Cut Up North, Deb’s Pantry, Ella’s Kitchen, Kerry Williment Daycare, Thirty-One Kristy McDougall, Mosquito Workshop and Round 2 Plastics.

The nominees for Food and Beverage are Cravings Late Night Food, La Ronge Dairy Queen, Ella’s Kitchen and Kostas.

The nominees for Non-Profit Organization are Children North, Jim Brady Metis Local #19, La Ronge and Area KidSport, La Ronge and District Filipino Canadian Community, La Ronge Ninja Kids, Men of the North, Northern Lights Hockey – Ice Wolves, Scattered Sites and Woodlands and Waterways.

The nominees for Citizen of the Year are Brandi Bell, Carla Frohaug, Colin Ratushniak, Connie Haugen, Daina Lapworth, Jeffrey Irvine, Linda Hordyski and Scott Boyes.

The nominees for ‘Art’preneur of the Year are Bob Polischuk – The Basement Potter, Dara Schindelka, Destiny Schafer, Greg Lobb – Mosquito Workshop, Napatak Ramble, Round 2 Plastics and Tammy Graas.

The nominees for Young Leader/Entrepreneur are Emily Zelensky, Jewel Charles, Larissa Muirhead and Underground Performance.

“Many community members put a lot of time and thought into these nominations,” the social media post stated. “With the holiday season upon us, we would now like to share these nominees with everyone. Please stay tuned to our page over the next few days as we announce all of the nominees in each category.”
