Meadow Lake RCMP apprehend suspect during Wednesday morning investigation

A man is in custody after a police investigation took place in Meadow Lake.
On Wednesday morning, an increased police presence with officers from both the Meadow Lake and Loon Lake detachments secured the area around a residence located on the 300th block of Second Street East in Meadow Lake. They also surrounded the perimeter of a residence located on the 200th block of Third Avenue East.
During this time, officers requested residents in the area stay inside their homes and that drivers avoid the area as they continued their investigation.
Authorities were able to apprehend the suspect and the scene has opened up to pedestrians and drivers once again. Some officers remain at the scene while the ongoing investigation proceeds. More information on the incident will be released after officers have completed processing the suspect.
