Meadow Lake RCMP investigating Cochin Avenue shooting

A man is in hospital after an incident that occurred early Monday morning in Meadow Lake.
Officials said the 29-year-old male was shot at multiple times while in a parked vehicle on Cochin Avenue. The man was struck once, sustaining significant injuries. Two other individuals were in the vehicle with the man at the time, but they were not harmed.
Officers stated the vehicle was not in motion at the beginning of the incident, but started moving at some point during the conflict. The vehicle stuck a power pole and caught fire, heavily damaging the vehicle.
The Meadow Lake Fire Department and EMS responded to the situation with the presence of Meadow Lake RCMP. The man was treated for his injuries and transported to hospital where he continues receiving treatment.
