Saskatoon Police charge La Ronge, Air Ronge residents with cocaine possession

Jan 11, 2021 | 3:49 PM

Three residents from the tri-communities are facing charges after Saskatoon Police allegedly found them with cocaine and a gun.

That’s according to a press release, which states at approximately 7:15 p.m. on Jan. 6, officers observed a man urinating on the side of a business in the 1200 block of Idylwyld Drive North. When they attempted to speak with him, the man fled on foot into a blue 2011 Chevrolet Silverado in a nearby parking lot.

After refusing to exit the vehicle and a brief altercation, the male suspect was arrested for obstruction. He was found to be breaching his conditions and had a Canada-wide warrant for his arrest.

Police located 52 grams of prepackaged cocaine inside the truck, along with a rifle and ammunition. A female driver and male passenger were also arrested.

Nineteen-year-old Colton Ratt of La Ronge was charged with three counts of resisting arrest and breach of conditions, as well as possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking and various firearms-related offences. Mary Johnson, 27, of La Ronge and 32-year-old George Ross of Air Ronge were also charged with possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking and various firearms-related offences.

All those charged have court appearances scheduled this month in Saskatoon.
