Meadow Lake confinement case adjourned for second time
An accused suspect in a forcible confinement case had his bail hearing pushed back for the second time since his initial court date.
Thirty-one-year-old Tyson Eldridge was set to proceed with his show cause hearing on January 11, but the hearing has been adjourned once again while Eldridge seeks a new court-appointed counsel. Eldridge was taken into custody by police in late December following an incident where he allegedly held an adult male and female at gunpoint.
A heavy police presence consisting of Meadow Lake and Loon Lake RCMP, Meadow Lake Traffic Services, the Emergency Response Team (ERT) and North Battleford Police Dog Services secured the area around a Meadow Lake residence after reports of a man holding two individuals against their will. Police were able to safely evacuate the two hostages and apprehend Eldridge after multiple attempts.
