Saskatchewan’s first free-standing hospice is to open in Saskatoon this week.
The 15-bed hospice is owned by St. Paul’s Hospital and governed by Emmanuel Health. The fundraising for the facility located at Glengarda in Saskatoon has been ongoing for some time and now the opening date has arrived.
Lecina Hicke, the CEO of the St. Paul’s Hospital Foundation, says the need for a hospice in Saskatchewan was evident.
