La Ronge Food Store moves to temporary hours due to outbreak

Feb 8, 2021 | 3:35 PM

New limits are in place at the Lake Country Co-op’s La Ronge Food Store.

According to a recent news release, as of Feb. 2, the store has been declared a COVID-19 active outbreak location. An outbreak is confirmed when two or more people test positive for COVID-19 in a non-household setting.

On Friday, there was a shortage of many items at the store and a noticeable reduction in staff.

“We are confident that our already high standards for cleaning and diligent physical distancing efforts have minimized risk of guest or colleague COVID-19 exposure,” the letter states. “We continue to prioritize health and safety in order to ensure that our team members and guests are safe.”

Once notified of the outbreak, the Co-op immediately notified all store employees to identify and support any colleagues who should self-isolate and seek testing as per Saskatchewan Health Authority guidelines. The location was also closed for deep cleaning, and customers and staff are asked to continue social distancing and wearing masks.

As of Feb. 7, there is a store limit of 25 people and customers are asked to shop alone if possible. Customers are to follow the arrows to ensure less congestion, dress warm and be safe.

Temporary hours of operation are Monday to Sunday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
