Meadow Lake RCMP seeking public assistance with church break-in
Meadow Lake RCMP is currently investigating a break-in at a church over the long weekend.
Officials say at some point on the night of Feb. 13, someone broke into Our Lady of Peace Roman Catholic Church and stole a set of golf clubs from the parish office. Police are asking the public for their help with the investigation. Anyone with information about the incident is asked to contact Meadow Lake RCMP.
Meadow Lake police are also reminding the public they are continuing to crack down on gang-related crime in the community. Officials stated the RCMP is physically checking on release conditions of prolific offenders to make sure they are at home during their curfew hours and abiding by their release orders or probation. This is a program that local police say has been in place for a while, but was temporarily paused due to COVID-19.
The coordinated effort works to have program subjects be successful throughout their probation term and not breach their release conditions.
