Prince Albert Raider alumnus Ryan McDonald will be joining his former team as an assistant coach.

The Prince Albert product was most recently named as the inaugural head coach of the Warman Wildcats U18 AAA team for the 2020-21 season.

“I am honoured to have the opportunity to join the Raiders coaching staff in Regina,” said McDonald in a statement. “I was fortunate to have the privilege of playing for the team I grew up watching and to join the coaching staff, it is a dream come true.”

As a player, McDonald appeared in 182 games with the Raiders between 2006-2009 after being acquired in a trade with Regina. The forward registered 162 points in that span before moving on to a U Sports career with Lakehead University and the University of Saskatchewan.
