Rempel Engineering acquires client list from Mid Con Engineering

After being in the business for more than 50 years, Hilary Fahlman of Mid Con Engineering had one last job to complete before retirement. The Prince Albert business owner wanted to ensure his clients would be taken care of. So, he placed his trust, and that of his clients, in the hands of Rempel Engineering & Management Ltd. (REM)– a structural engineering consulting firm that has established itself as a major player in Saskatchewan and across western Canada.

REM will pick up where Falhman left off. The new office will be located at 70-17th St. West in Mid Con Engineering’s previous office space. Corey Kasner, one of the founding partners of Rempel Engineering, is a northern Saskatchewan local originally from Shellbrook. The Prince Albert staff are all from the north and have family cottages at both Emma and Candle Lake. Kasner said he is aware there are big shoes his company is expected to fill but knows that he and his crew are more than ready to handle any challenges that come their way.

“First, we’d like to wish Hilary all the best in his retirement. We do very similar work to what he did, so it was a natural fit for us,” Kasner said. “At Rempel Engineering, we pride ourselves on our fast customer service and turnaround times. Part of our business philosophy is that we want to help people in every situation they may find themselves in, whatever it might be. We’re here as an engineering firm to try and find a solution.”

Knowing some of the changes aren’t going to settle immediately, Kasner felt it important to acknowledge Fahlman’s work in the community before trying to replace him.

“We’ve only got to know him in a short period of time, but just talking to some of his past clients, it sounds like he was an awesome, great guy to work with,” Kasner said.

He added Rempel Engineering is ready to continue providing that same excellent service to the community as things move forward.

REM offers several services in residential and commercial work, including structural and foundation design and drafting, structural assessments for existing buildings, building drawings, code reviews and unique structure projects like sign bases, raised platforms and retaining walls. Kasner said their company strives to deliver superior quality projects to its clients, all while meeting their budgets and deadlines. He added his company’s vast experience in many different projects gives them a competitive edge that separates them from other businesses in the area. REM has been involved in close to 12,000 small to medium sized projects since 2005 averaging roughly 750 projects per year.

“The thing I like most about our job and the type of work we do is that no project is ever the same. Every project has its unique challenges and obstacles that you must overcome, and that is what is so challenging and rewarding at the same time. People should come to us because of our vast experience and rapid turnaround times in different types of situations.”

Rempel Engineering & Management Ltd. is open from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday to Friday. Follow their Facebook page to stay connected or check out their home page to learn more about how they can serve you.
