Battlefords Boys & Girls Clubs rebrand to promote inclusivity

The Boys and Girls Clubs of the Battlefords has swapped the name for BGC Battlefords.

The change was announced late last week in a statement from the non-profit, as well as a video from the national organization. The main reason given for the decision being made is an effort to have the brand reflect their doors being open to all kids and teens.

“Removing gender from our name modernizes the BGC brand and echoes the inclusive practices we’re known for, without straying too far from our history and brand awareness,” as stated in the media release. “It also embraces the fact that we serve young people of all ages, backgrounds, and identities.”

The non-profit has worked with kids and teens for more than 45 years in the area.
