Big numbers for P.A. drive-thru vaccinations

The drive-thru mass vaccination clinic that opened just north of Prince Albert at the weekend has proven to be a big success.

According to the Saskatchewan Health Authority (SHA), 1,262 jabs were given in the first three days of operation.

That represents over seven per cent of all vaccinations given so far in the north central zone.

On the very busy opening day on Saturday, 503 vaccinations were administered, followed by 389 on Sunday and a further 372 on Monday.

The clinic, which is situated at Thorpe’s Industry No. 1 on Pine Street off Highway 2 North, is set to run until Wednesday and is open from 9 a.m. until 7 p.m.

According to the latest figures reported by the province, 17,308 doses of vaccine had been given in the north central zone.

SHA said as the vaccine roll-out continues to expand and more drive-thru clinics come online throughout the province, it may not be possible to provide location-specific data to the same detail.
