P.A. drive-thru clinic extended for two days

Apr 7, 2021 | 5:48 PM

The Prince Albert Drive-Thru vaccination clinic, located off Highway 2 just north of the city, will continue for two more days.

It was supposed to wrap up Wednesday but will now continue through Thursday and Friday with the same operating times of 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. unless they run out of vaccines sooner.

Current eligibility for the COVID-19 immunization drive-thru and walk-in vaccine clinics is 55 years of age and older. For more on age eligibility go to the saskatchewan.ca website.

Saskatchewan Health Authority (SHA) confirmed in a media release, all drive-thru and walk-in clinics will be on a first-come, first-served basis. No appointment is necessary, residents can attend at their convenience.

Additional details for drive-thru and walk-in clinics, including the most up-to-date wait times can be found at: www.saskatchewan.ca/drive-thru-vax.

Delay in Moderna shipment

Meanwhile, SHA said it had been made aware of a further delay impacting their next expected shipment of 19,300 Moderna vaccines. This delay stems from the manufacturer and is outside of SHA control.

Some appointments already booked in primarily rural and northern clinics will be impacted. The SHA is still assessing the full impact. A further public announcement will also be made in the coming days and the SHA will notify impacted patients directly next week and reschedule their appointments.

In the interim, no action is required from patients.

*Editors note: This story was updated at 8:45 Thursday morning to adjust the hours of the drive-thru clinic as per a request from the SHA.
