Wynyard couple wins $100,000 on lottery ticket

A Wynyard couple has won $100,000 after buying a Poker Lotto ticket from the Feb. 19 draw.

Orest Shular didn’t believe his eyes when he scanned the winning ticket.

“I scanned this ticket and thought the machine screen was fooling me,” Shular said in a release. “Afterward, I went to another store to double-check my ticket – I just couldn’t believe it.”

Orest and his wife Helen are just starting to figure out what to do with the money.

“We haven’t thought about it too much,” Orest said. “We would like to travel when it’s safe to do so – there are a lot of places across Canada that we’ve never seen. We’d like to see some places in Saskatchewan, and Nova Scotia has always seemed interesting.”
