Kachur’s Golf Club opens for the season and is already packed

Apr 16, 2021 | 4:00 PM

Kachur’s Golf Course is now open for the upcoming golf season, but if you actually want to get on the course, you’ll have to start booking your tee times now.

Course owner Patty Kachur barely had time for an interview with paNOW on Friday afternoon about an hour after Kachur’s had just opened at 11:30 a.m.

Last year, Kachur’s was packed for most of the golf season with those just wanting to leave the house for something to do during the pandemic. And if Friday is any indication, there could be even more golfers out this year.

“We’re already way busier than last year, just with memberships. We opened this morning at 11:30 and the tee sheet is full—there’s a little room on Sunday, but it’s looking pretty good,” Kachur said.

Although weather has been unusual for most of the winter with frequent hot and cold spurts in the summer, Kachur said the golf course weather quite nicely.

“It’s beautiful. Greens are good and everything’s good.”

Prince Albert’s oldest golf course, the Cooke Municipal Golf Course, opened its driving range on Thursday. They will make an announcement early next week on when Cooke will be ready for the public.
