Emissions Reductions Alberta’s Food, Farming and Forestry Challenge grants to be given out Tuesday
GRANDE PRAIRIE, Alta. – The Alberta Government is awarding grants to fund 17 project under Emissions Reductions Alberta’s Food, Farming and Forestry Challenge.
The grants, totaling $33-million, will go to support projects that support long-term competitiveness and stimulate growth in Alberta’s agriculture, agri-food, fibre and forestry sectors.
The funding will provide near-term capital to innovators in these industries, while also identifying opportunities and solutions for long-term economic recovery, investment attraction, job creation and emissions reduction.
Over 150 applicants were submitted for this project, which was launched in June of 2020, and a total of 38 projects were short listed. Those applicants then had to submit Full Project Proposals and give in-person presentations.
