Increased COVID-19 testing coming to Birch Hills

Apr 23, 2021 | 4:26 PM

The Saskatchewan Health Authority (SHA) is planning increased testing in Birch Hills.

An SHA spokesperson told northeastNOW cases of COVID-19 in the community as well as close contacts are continuing to be investigated at this time.

Not all of the cases in the town are directly linked to the incidents described in the advisory that was issued on April 16. The advisory instructed attendees of parties on April 10 to be tested for the virus and to isolate until April 24, regardless of results.

At this point, all cases are being treated as variants.

The SHA is reiterating the importance of following the public health guidelines that have been in place since the beginning of the pandemic.

The guidelines include keeping a two metre distance from others, wearing a mask when inside or outside of your home in the presence of non-household members, washing hands frequently and thoroughly or using hand sanitizer when water is not available.
