Meadow Lake RCMP advising public of escaped fugitive

UPDATE: The Saskatchewan RCMP have reported on May 3 Christopher Ernest was arrested without incident in Edmonton. He was taken back into custody.

While at the Meadow Lake Courthouse at noon earlier today, 23-year-old Christopher Gilbert Ernest fled from police while awaiting a court hearing for several charges including resisting arrest, possession of a dangerous weapon and assault with a weapon.

Ernest is described to be around 5-9 in height, weighing nearly 160 lb. He was last seen wearing blue jeans and a grey tee shirt. Police say Ernest is dangerous and should not be approached by the public. Authorities believe he could be on his way to Waterhen Lake First Nation, but the suspicion hasn’t been confirmed.
