Alleged drug trafficker arrested following vehicle search

A man is in custody after police discovered several illegal narcotics during an investigation.
On April 24, Meadow Lake RCMP pulled over a 54-year-old male for operating a vehicle while prohibited. At that time, a quick search by police revealed the man had nearly 34 grams of cocaine, 13 grams of crystal meth and $595 in cash. The estimated street value of the drugs is said to be in the range of $5,500.
Police seized the cash and substances, and Edwin McCallum of Meadow Lake was arrested and charged with two counts of trafficking and driving while prohibited.
McCallum remains in police custody and is expected to appear in court on May 6.
