
RCMP seize liquor headed for Black Lake
Southend RCMP have seized a significant amount of alcohol.
According to an RCMP news release, Black Lake RCMP officers were alerted April 29 to a vehicle carrying a large quantity of alcohol passing through La Ronge heading toward Black Lake. The vehicle was located and stopped by Southend RCMP.
The release states alcohol was seen by police in plain sight in the vehicle. A search of the vehicle resulted in police locating and seizing 76 750 ml bottles of whiskey, two 1.75 litre bottles of whiskey, one 30 pack of beer and a 24 pack of twisted tea.
There were two occupants in the vehicle and both have been charged with bootlegging.
