Collaboration between Saskatchewan RCMP and the Edmonton Police Service resulted in the arrest of three dangerous adult males on May 3, all of whom were wanted for separate incidents in Meadow Lake.

These warrants had lead to lengthy, ongoing investigations. All three males were arrested at one location in Edmonton.

“Community safety is our utmost priority, and we have put significant resources together to investigate these incidents and ensure those responsible were brought into custody,” Insp. Murray Chamberlin, the RCMP North District Operations Officer, said in a media release.

Nineteen year-old Raheem Hagan of Meadow Lake was charged with discharging a firearm with intent and reckless discharge of a firearm on April 13. Twenty-one year-old Christopher Nolan of Lloydminster was charged with attempted murder and aggravated assault, in relation to a shooting incident on January 4.

“Both the January 4 and April 13 incidents were gang-related and involved illegally-possessed firearms,” Chamberlin said. “This is one step toward stemming gang activity in the Meadow Lake area, but it certainly won’t be the last.”

In relation to an incident in Meadow Lake on April 26, 23 year-old Christopher Ernest of Meadow Lake was charged with escape from lawful custody. All three individuals remain in custody for upcoming court appearances.

Saskatchewan RCMP and Edmonton Police Service will continue to work together during this ongoing investigation.

“We are grateful for our partners at the Edmonton Police Service for their assistance in these arrests,” Chamberlin said.

Saskatchewan RCMP has several units committed to addressing an increase in gang presence and violence in the west central part of Saskatchewan, including the Crime Reduction Team and Gang Task Force.
