Jury selection no longer required for Starblanket murder case
A man facing a charge of second-degree murder has re-elected to be tried by judge alone.
Silas Starblanket was originally scheduled to be tried by a jury last month, but due to COVID-19 restrictions, all scheduled jury trials in the province have been getting postponed.
The courts have offered individuals the choice to re-elect to help speed up their matters.
Starblanket’s case was discussed during a short hearing Tuesday afternoon at Prince Albert Court of Queen’s Bench.
