LSSD reports two COVID-19 cases
Living Sky School Division reported two cases of COVID-19 within two schools in North Battleford last week.
The first was found at North Battleford Comprehensive School, the second was out of McKitrick Community School. Per protocol, the division has worked with public health to put measures in place and contact tracing is underway. Following a deep cleaning/sanitization, the schools remain open.
As the school year winds down, the division is reminding students, parents and staff to continue to follow safe practices regarding COVID-19 precautions. At this time, no further details of the two individuals are being shared, due to privacy concerns.
As of May 10 in Saskatchewan, there are 43,288 positive cases, 40,645 recoveries and 502 deaths, for a fatality rate of 1.2 per cent. The seven day average for new cases is 204 and more than 527,000 COVID-19 vaccines have been administered.
