Serious fire outside P.A. city limits

A serious fire is burning northeast of the city across the highway from the Prince Albert Airport.

Homes are in the process of being evacuated according to the Prince Albert Fire Department (PAFD).

The blaze was first reported around 2:30 p.m.

According to the PAFD homes on Evergreen Road and Valleyview Road areas were being evacuated and the fire is ‘growing exponentially.’

Thick dark plumes of smoke were seen from the semi rural area.

The cause of the fire is not immediately known.
