SGI shines spotlight on speeders in Saskatchewan
Speeding tickets in Saskatchewan came fast and furious in April.
In a media release Wednesday, SGI said there were 7,165 speeding tickets issued by police officers in the province during the April Traffic Spotlight.
“There are 43,200 minutes in April, so that works out to an average of one speeding ticket written every six minutes,” the SGI release said, noting those numbers don’t include tickets issued via photo radar.
There were 250 tickets handed out to drivers for exceeding the speed limit by more than 35 kilometres per hour, and 65 tickets issued to drivers for going over the limit by more than 50 km/h.
