NSRBL releases schedule for spring 2021

The North Sask. River Baseball League (NSRBL) released their schedule for the spring season Monday.

The senior baseball season is set to begin the week of June 6, with each of the league’s 12 teams playing 11 games over the campaign (facing each team once). Below are the full season-schedules for the Battlefords Trappers, North Battleford Beavers and Meadow Lake Sox.

Significant games are also detailed.

Battlefords Trappers

The Trappers will begin their season at home versus the Kindersley Stallions, June 8. Just two nights later, the team will then play the cross-town rival North Battleford Beavers, who defeated the Trappers in last year’s playoffs.

June 24 the Trappers will play Standard Hill, who finished atop the league’s standings last year, before facing off with the 2020 league champion Lloydminster Twins July 7. The Trappers conclude their schedule July 14 versus the Border City Blue Jays.

Jun 16 – 6:30 p.m. @ Unity Junior Cardinals

June 18 – 7:30 p.m. vs. Wilkie Brewers

June 24 – 6:30 p.m. @ Standard Hill Lakers

June 29 – 7:30 p.m. vs. St. Wahlburg Reds

July 6 – 7:30 p.m. vs. Meadow Lake Sox

July 7 – 6:30 p.m. @ Lloydminster Twins

July 12 – 6:30 p.m. @ Mervin Flyers

July 14 – 7:30 p.m. vs. Border City Blue Jays

North Battleford Beavers

The Beavers will begin their season with a bang, on the road June 8, against last year’s top-seeded Standard Hill Lakers, whom they upset in the second-round of the playoffs. The team will then host their home opener just two nights later, to play their local rival, the Battlefords Trappers.

The Beavers will end their regular season in a rematch of last year’s league-finals, taking on the Lloydminster Twins, who defeated the Beavers in two-straight games last summer to claim the NSRBL championship in North Battleford.

June 29 – 7:30 p.m. vs. Mervin Flyers

July 6 – 6:30 p.m. @ Border City Blue Jays

July 8 – 7:30 p.m. @ Kindersley Stallions

July 12 – 7:30 p.m. vs. Lloydminster Twins

Meadow Lake Sox

The Sox will open their season on the road June 6 against the Unity Junior Cardinals. June 13 the team will host the Kindersley Stallions, looking to avenge last year’s defeat at the hands of Kindersley in the first round of the postseason.

June 15 the Sox will host the rival St. Walburg Reds, and June 24 they will host last year’s champion, Lloyd Twins. Meadow Lake will then cap their season with a double-header July 11: that will see the club play Wilkie in the early afternoon and Macklin in the evening, before closing their schedule July 14 versus Standard Hill.
