Vaccine drive-thru times added for Battlefords, Lloydminster

The drive-thru immunization clinics in Lloydminster and the Battlefords will have availability again on Saturday, June 5, as the province progresses in its reopening roadmap.

The Battlefords clinic, located off of Highway 16 heading into Battleford, is open from 9:30 a.m.–5:00 p.m. on Saturday, while Lloydminster’s clinic, set up at the grounds of the Lloydminster Exhibition Association, is open from 9:00 a.m.–4:00 p.m. Both will administering the Pfizer vaccine, which has been approved for 12 years and older.

Supply will be based on a first come, first served basis, as it may run out before the clinic closes. Appointments are still available throughout the week at local pharmacies and anyone who decides to attend a drive-thru clinic are asked to cancel their appointment prior to doing so.

As of May 31, there are 46,748 positive cases of COVID-19 cases in Saskatchewan, 44,841 recoveries and 539 deaths, for a fatality rate of 1.2 per cent. Hospitalizations have dropped to 108 and there are 1,368 active cases, including 134 active cases in the North West Region.

As the province begins Step 1 of the Reopening Roadmap, 725,648 vaccines have been administered. Step 2 is tentatively scheduled for June 20, while the vaccination requirement for Step 3, 70 per cent of 18 year-old residents and older, is just six per cent away.
