La Ronge RCMP investigating assault on two children in Bell’s Point

La Ronge RCMP are investigating after two children in Bell’s Point were assaulted.

That’s according to an RCMP media release, which states on May 29 at 6:47 p.m., officers received a call to assist emergency medical services with two injured female children at the Lac La Ronge Indian Band’s Bell’s Point subdivision.

RCMP noted an initial investigation indicates the children, ages six and eight, were victims of an assault. They were transported to hospital for treatment of their injuries.

The incident happened in a wooded area near the 400-block of Bells Point Road. The children sought assistance from a nearby residence after the incident occurred.

At this time the La Ronge RCMP detachment and La Ronge RCMP General Investigation Section continue to investigate. No arrests have been made and RCMP do not believe there is any risk to the general public.
