RCMP have charged three people after a near eight month investigation into an incident that began outside a nightclub in Regina.

On the morning of October 4, RCMP received complaints of an injured person in a rural field north of Fort Qu’Appelle. The victim had severe injuries and was treated in hospital.

Then, on November 5, a search warrant was executed at a home in Wadena. 22-year-old Sheridan Squirrel and 25-year-old Jenna Hoffman, both of Wadena were arrested and charged with attempted murder, kidnapping, robbery, and choking to overcome resistance. Squirrel agreed to a plea agreement on March 16, 2021 and pleaded guilty to aggravated assault, robbery, and forcible confinement. He was sentenced to five-and-a-half years in prison. Hoffman remains in custody and is set to appear in Regina Provincial Court again on June 17.

Meanwhile, on May 20, 2021, 24-year-old Austin Severight of the Yellow Quill First Nation was charged with attempted murder, kidnapping, robbery, and choking to overcome resistance.
