Restaurants preparing for lifting of restrictions
As Saskatchewan nears Step two of its Reopening Roadmap, restaurants have tempered excitement in preparing for a boost in attendance.
On June 20, capacity limits will be lifted for restaurants and bars, as long as each establishment can maintain social distancing. By July 11, which is the scheduled date for Step 3 if vaccination numbers are met, the majority of remaining restrictions will be lifted. Owner of Blend Restaurant and Bar Robin Petersen said it’s exciting to finally see things take a turn for the better.
“It’s definitely positive and a step in the right direction,” he said. “It’s great news.”
Restaurants have already been impacted in Step one alone, which moved capacity back to six per table again. Petersen said that was one of the most restricting mandates on operations.
