Additional lanes, clinic times added for first COVID-19 doses
The Saskatchewan Health Authority is offering a fast track lane for anyone who has yet to receive a first dose of COVID-19 vaccine at the Battlefords drive-thru clinic and additional vaccine clinics for Lloydminster residents who haven’t received their first dose.
The Battlefords clinic located at the Finning Cat Building just off of Highway 16 East in Battleford will be open from 12:30 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. on June 18. In Lloydminster, the drive-thru clinic at the Lloydminster Exhibition Association (Lloyd Ex) will be open from 9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. for first doses only. On June 19, a booked first doses only clinic at the Wildrose Pavilion at the Lloydminster Exhibition building will be open 9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. Those appointments must be booked in advance, via calling 1-833-SASK-VAX (1-833-727-5829).
This move is part of the province’s push to get vaccination rates to meet the 70 per cent goal for Step 3 of the Reopening Roadmap. Currently, 18+ still sits at 69 and 12+ sits at 68 per cent. If 70 per cent of 12+ is reached, the province has said all public health restrictions will be lifted.
As of June 17, there are 48,220 positive cases of COVID-19 in Saskatchewan, along with 46,907 recoveries, 752 active cases, 87 hospitalizations, 561 deaths and 937,737 vaccines administered.
