RCMP charge man in relation to stolen vehicle from Birch Hills

RCMP have charged a 26-year-old man after a vehicle was stolen from Birch Hills.

Melfort RCMP received a complaint of the stolen vehicle on June 6, around 1 p.m., and found the vehicle in Kinistino. However, the suspect fled from police and RCMP. The vehicle was then found a short time later on James Smith Cree Nation. A male was taken into custody as a result.

Andrew Umperville has been charged with theft of a motor vehicle, dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, break and enter to a residence, resisting arrest, and flight from a peace officer.

Umperville appeared in Melfort Provincial Court on June 21
