North Stars AGM to take place Monday

Jun 23, 2021 | 11:49 AM

The Battlefords North Stars will be hosting their team’s annual general meeting (AGM) Mon., June 28 at the Gold Eagle Lodge in North Battleford.

Taking place at 7 p.m., the meeting is a chance to reflect on the past year and a half, and the organization’s outlook coming out of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Head coach and general manager of the Stars Brayden Klimosko said while the pandemic obviously took its toll, the team remains optimistic and excited for the future with the expectation of a return to a full season this fall.

“Obviously it wasn’t an easy year last year, losing our season and even having to lay some people off, so it’s been a tough year that way and we’re being pretty cautious,” Klimosko said. “[That said], we’re pretty pumped that we’re getting back to normal here more and more and really looking forward to it.”

In addition to discussing the team’s financial outlook from the last year and moving forward, the Stars’ organization will also be actively looking for volunteers and board members for the upcoming season.

The team AGM is open to the public, though due to provincial COVID capacity restrictions, those planning to attend are asked to reserve a spot in advance by contacting Klimosko by email at coach@northstars.ca.

The North Stars AGM next week will follow the league AGM and scheduling meeting that will take place tomorrow through Saturday (June 24-26).
