Local educator Hawboldt recognized for dedication to school, community athletics
Battlefords local, Tom Hawboldt has been recognized for his commitment and dedication to school and community sport, with a Saskatchewan High Schools Athletic Association (SHSAA) Service Award.
Hawboldt, who has spent the last six years as a retired superintendent and current consultant with the Light of Christ Catholic School Division (LOCCSD), served as a teacher and manager of information and technology within the division for over 20 years, including 12 at North Battleford’s John Paul II Collegiate (JPII).
During that time he also contributed a number of extra hours coaching and assisting with running various extra-curricular athletic teams in both the Battlefords and surrounding region.
Athletic Director at John Paul II Collegiate (JPII), Vic Stynsky said Hawboldt has remained very in-touch with the Crusaders’ athletics department even once moving on to serve as a member of the Light of Christ school board, making regular trips back to stay involved with the school teams.
