Door of Hope hires Monique Brownrigg as new food bank manager
The Door of Hope is receiving a helping hand in the form of a new member of its management team.
In April, the non-profit brought in Monique Brownrigg to fill the food bank’s vacancy and oversee food bank operations. Prior to joining the Door of Hope, Brownrigg attended the University of Saskatchewan where she studied psychology.
Along with overseeing operations, Brownrigg stated she would like to help remove the stigma surrounding the food bank and the people who utilize the service.
“I want to eliminate the shame of going to a food bank as much as possible, because literally anyone can go to the food bank. No one’s going to judge you, it’s just sometimes, you need more help than other [times], and that’s totally okay. It’s more than acceptable to ask for help, and we’re always willing to help,” Brownrigg explained.
