Kinsmen Water Park reopens today after three day closure

Jul 11, 2021 | 10:21 AM

The Kinsmen Water Park in Prince Albert will be back open for business on Sunday.

Public swimming will be available from noon to 6:30 p.m. The facility has been closed since July 8 after a swimmer got their finger trapped in a main pool outlet jet.

The Kinsmen Water Park staff and the Prince Albert Fire Department worked to free the swimmer and it has been closed since for maintenance and repairs.

Today the provincial government has also lifted all remaining public health restrictions and the pool will be able to operate at max capacity.

According to Environment Canada, the daily high temperature for today will reach up to 30 Celsius.

Many people took advantage of the hot weather Sunday at the Kinsmen Water Park including Kelly Stoddart and family who travelled to P.A. to visit family and of course have a day at the water slides.

“We heard they did some work during the COVID shutdown that there’s some new slides and so we’re excited to try them out and let our kids try them,” she said. “I used to come as a kid so now we’re here with our family.”
