Woman charged following fatal hit-and-run, back in court on new charges
A woman charged in connection to a fatal hit-and-run that happened over ten years ago on the Montreal Lake Cree Nation is facing a new list of serious charges.
RCMP confirmed Jody Roberts, 33, was arrested last Sunday following an altercation at a residence on the reserve where a gathering was taking place.
According to court records, she faces two counts of aggravated assault, as well as one count of uttering threats. She was released from custody Thursday, and is scheduled to make her next court appearance Aug. 5.
At the time of the incident Sunday, Roberts was out on bail, following her previous arrest last March, and subsequent charge of failing to remain at the scene of an accident.
