Three Prince Albert Royals teams will head off to Baseball Saskatchewan Provincial Championships this weekend.

The 11U, 13U, and 15U Royals are all vying for provincial championships.

Head coach Matt Gray hopes to lead the 15U Royals to a medal in Meadow Lake, Sask. in the AA Tier 1 division.

The 13U Royals are also competing in the AA Tier 1 division, led by head coach Graham McGregor. They will head to Muenster, Sask.

The 11U Royals will battle in Unity, Sask. in the AA Tier 3 division. Jason Van Otterloo is the Royals’ bench boss.

This will be the first Provincial Championship Series held since 2019. The 2020 series was cancelled due to prolonged COVID restrictions that did not allow enough time for teams to play or prepare until July 2020.

In the last championships in 2019, the P.A. Royals 13U team won the Tier 3 Championship title.

The championship series for the P.A. Royals 18U age division will be played Aug. 13-15 in Unity, Sask. They are led by head coach Geoff Gay.
