Organizers are excited about the 2021 Napatak Ramble which is less than one month away.

Originally planned to occur over two days in Potato Lake, the entire event has been condensed to one day of music set for Aug. 21. According to artistic director Colin Jolly, all the planning seems to be coming along nicely.

“Just with COVID, it’s kind of made things a little bit more difficult,” he said. “When we first opened it up, we were only allowed to have 150. Now that we are able to have more, instead of having the same show both nights, we just put it all into one night.”

Several performers are scheduled to appear including Michael Bernard Fitzgerald, Eliza Mary Doyle, Metis Fiddle Music, Funky Bus, Dara Schindelka, Poe Lacey, It’s Just Andrea, Northern Creek, Lightning Creek, As Above So Below, Grasshopper Pie, Stargaze and Aaron Bell.

“All the local talent has been chosen by basically the ones that had offers to play last year,” Jolly said. “Unfortunately, due to COVID last year, they got shut down so we decided to honour them and bring them back to be able to play this year.”

The day will begin at 10 a.m. with an arts market open free of charge to the public. Then at 4:30 p.m. the doors will open to paying guests.

Tickets are $70 and can be purchased in-person at the Montreal River Outpost or online here.
