Man sentenced to jail for illegal weapons offences
A man arrested by RCMP for being in possession of an illegal firearm has been sentenced to jail after being convicted for weapons offences.
Austin Rylan Dolter has been convicted on one count of possession of an illegal firearm and one count of possession of a firearm while prohibited by an order. He was sentenced to 345 days in jail on both offences, resulting in a total 690 days in prison.
Dolter was originally arrested on March 19, 2021 after officers received reports of a man driving recklessly on Eighth Avenue East in Meadow Lake, Sask.
When the Meadow Lake RCMP arrested him, they seized a 9mm semi-automatic rifle, a .357 revolver, body armour and a tazer.
