The Liberal Party have announced Larry Ingram as their candidate running for the Battlefords-Lloydminster riding in the upcoming federal election.

This will be his fourth time running. He decided to put his hat into the race again because he is pleased with the Liberal government’s work and its handling of the pandemic in Canada.

“I think we did such a great job looking after the COVID-19,” he said.

Ingram is also happy with the Canada Child Benefit Package, which he says “has been very helpful to a lot of young families.”

From the Turtleford area, Ingram has a family with two grown daughters.

He keeps busy running a small farm operation growing organic grain and raises Dexter cattle.

Ingram has prior experience as a sheet metal contractor.

Ingram says being involved in the community is important to him and currently sits on a local community health advisory network.

Over the years, he served as a councillor with the RM of Mervin from 1998 to 2004. During that time he was the vice-chair on the North Central Transportation Planning Committee.

“We were instrumental in getting the highway rebuilt from Glaslyn to Turtleford,” he said.

He was also a school division trustee from 1996 to 1997 with the Battle River School Division.

Ingram says if elected he hopes to be another voice for the West.

He said he is looking forward to meeting area residents and hearing their ideas and concerns in the weeks ahead, leading up to the election.
